We are pleased to welcome you to the 27th edition of the Algiers International Book Fair, this iconic event that brings together literature and culture enthusiasts from all walks of life. Under the theme "Read to Triumph," this year we celebrate not only the timeless power of books, but also their unifying role, uniting and inspiring us across generations. It is also an opportunity to pay tribute to those who triumphed to give us the freedom we enjoy today. By organizing this new edition of the country's largest cultural event, we commemorate the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious November 1st Revolution. Through words and messages, we pass this legacy on to future generations and reaffirm our solidarity with peoples yearning for freedom, particularly in Palestine and Western Sahara. The spirit of the November 1st Revolution, this precious legacy, will be at the heart of meetings between historians, writers, and historical figures, through the prism of Arab, African, and international historical perspectives. Algerian, Arab, and African literature also occupies a central place in the fair's cultural program, with spaces for discussion where authors and intellectuals can meet their audiences. As part of our effort to revive the publishing sector, we are organizing three professional meetings to examine the challenges facing Algerian publishers. These meetings aim to broaden the prospects for development and growth in the book sector. We are proud to welcome the State of Qatar as our guest of honor, with a program that reflects the richness and diversity of Qatari culture. This is a valuable opportunity to strengthen our ties and cultural exchanges. This edition of the fair also targets a digital audience, both inside and outside the country, with the broadcast of conferences and cultural meetings, as well as the production of "Podcasts du salon: Livre ouvert," accessible on digital platforms, notably YouTube. Finally, to promote the literary creativity of young Algerians, the Ministry of Culture and Arts is sponsoring the "My First Book" prize, rewarding the best first work by authors under 35, as well as a prize for the best exhibition stand. We aspire to make this 27th edition of the Algiers International Book Fair a space for enriching intellectual dialogue and a true celebration of books and cultural diversity. We welcome participants and the public to share with us this ambition to promote knowledge and books.
